Information on processing of personal data of website users pursuant to art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679
Introduction
In accordance with article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter “Regulation”), this privacy policy describes how the personal data of users who consult the “International Centre for Climate Change Research and Studies” (hereinafter “CSRCC” or “Centre”) website are processed. The CSRCC website is accessible online at the following address: https://csrcc.it (“Website”). As a result of consulting the Website, in fact, data relating to identified or identifiable individuals may be processed.
This information does not apply to other sites, pages or online services accessible via hypertext links that may be published on the Website but which refer to resources outside the Centre’s domain.
Data controller
The Data Controller is the “International Centre for Climate Change Research and Studies”, with headquarters in Dorsoduro 3246, 30123 Venice (VE), certified e-mail address (PEC) csrcc@pec.csrcc.it, e-mail address info@csrcc.org, legally represented by the President.
Data Protection Officer
The Centre has assessed that it does not fall under the cases provided for in article 37 of the Regulation. So it has not appointed a Data Protection Officer. Data protection issues can be addressed to the Centre’s Administrative Officer writing to the e-mail address info@csrcc.org.
Purposes and legal basis for the processing
The personal data of the website users (as better specified below) is processed by the Centre to carry out research, scientific dissemination, third mission, communication, training and networking activities. These activities are useful for the pursuit of the main purposes set forth in the Centre’s Statute. The Centre’s mission is to advance the understanding of climate change impacts and develop strategies for mitigation, adaptation and resilience, leveraging the city of Venice as a global hub for knowledge sharing and innovation.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data of the Website users is represented by art. 9.2.b) of the Regulation (“service provided at the request of the data subject”).
Types of personal data processed and specific purpose of processing
Site navigation data
The computer systems and the software procedures used to operate the Website collect, as part of their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
This category of data includes the following:
- IP addresses of users devices;
- date and time when the request was received;
- the addresses in URI / URL (Uniform Resource Identifier / Locator) notation of the requested resources;
- the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.);
- the size in bytes of the response;
- URI / URL of the page of origin (referrer);
- browser recognition string (user agent).
This data is not stored for more than 15 days, after which it is automatically deleted (except in the case of criminal investigations by judicial authorities).
Data communicated by the user
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of messages to the Centre’s contact addresses as well as the completion and submission of any forms on the Website entail the acquisition of the sender’s anagraphic and contact data, necessary for a response, as well as all personal data included in the communications. There is, however, specific information for the provision of certain services.
Cookies and other tracking systems
The Website does not use cookies or other tracking systems.
Data subjects’ rights
The Website users, as data subjects, have the right to obtain from the Centre, in the cases provided for by the Regulation, the access, the rectification and the erasure of their personal data as well as to ask for the limitation of the processing or to object to the data processing itself, in accordance with articles 15 and following of the Regulation. The request can be submitted, without any particular formal procedures, by writing to the Centre to the certified e-mail address (PEC) csrcc@pec.csrcc.it or to the e-mail address info@csrcc.org (to the attention of the Administrative Officer).
Data subjects who believe that the processing of their personal data is in violation of the provisions of the Regulation have the right to file a complaint to the Data Protection Authority (Article 77 of the Regulation) or to take appropriate legal action (Article 79 of the Regulation).
